Michael Hochman joined his father's dixieland band, The Bars & Tonics, when he was
just ten years old, playing the old Clam Festival and Fine Arts Festival when they were held on
the Annapolis City Dock. His versatility on saxophone had him playing baritone sax with the
Boston University Jazz Band his freshman year of college, and then lead alto his sophomore
year before joining The Refried Boogie Band, a working Boston bar band, on both tenor and
alto. Upon his return to Maryland for law school, he formed the alternative band Yanomamo in
the mid 80's with long time friend and musical collaborator Carl Corse, playing mostly original
music and gigging at infamous Baltimore venues of the past including the Marble Bar and Galaxy
Lounge. Michael currently has his own downtown Annapolis law office, records with varying
artists and still plays dixieland with his father's group, now known as Dr. Rick Hochman's
Dynamic Dixieland Band
