Bill McHenry started as a child star singing and dancing in night clubs and on local TV shows in Hawaii
at age 10. He was a student of Peggy Ryan and met and danced with greats such as Sammy Davis, Jr.
At age 14 he took up the drums, playing for his father's dixieland band and later with regular gigs in
and around Washington, D.C. Bill was drafted into the Army in 1969 where he played drums for the Army
Band out of Augusta, Georgia. He moved to Annapolis in 1984, where he was the drummer for BJ Doyle
at the Annapolis Yacht Club, played dixieland gigs at the Topside Restaurant in Galesville, and
backed up Joe Byrd's Band in downtown Annapolis. Bill can be seen drumming with Dr. Rick Hochman's
Dynamic Dixie Band at the Ram's Head Tavern and has been playing throughout Maryland for the past
three years with The Harbor Cats.
